Hello

My name is Tom Lyne and I am the host and director of The Bread Lyne. In a world surrounded by instant everything and ‘Just Eat, Don’t Cook’, I have been feeling that, what is more important, is getting back to the kitchen and make your own food from scratch. I know the joy and satisfaction that comes from making things for yourself, your friends and your family.

Cue the mission to teach people basic bread making. I am not going to turn anyone into an artisan bread guru, but I will get you on your way to making the tastiest, freshest, most personal loaf you have every served. I will show you my methods for making and handling dough with tips and advice along the way that will help you achieve a good loaf.

These workshops are 3 hour sessions in which we go step by step through basic bread methods and techniques. We will prepare and bake two different breads, and you will have your fresh loaves to take home with you at the end. During the workshop you will taste some fresh-out-of-the-oven breads, and we will take time to talk and discuss techniques, ingredients and recipes.

Making Bread

The workshops are for groups of 4 and you can book for yourself, get a voucher for a friend, or think of the workshop as a group day out and book a specific date for yourself and friends, or the family, or a special occasion. Please reach out and we can discuss options. I can even bring the workshop to your kitchen if you have suitable space.
